Refund policy
NO-NONSENSE RETURN POLICY:
You have up to 60 days from the date of purchase to decide if you want to keep your shoes, apparel, or gear. However, you must return your purchase in new and unused condition with the original tags and packaging to receive a full refund. So, pay attention to the following instructions!
POLICY ON SHOES
TRYING YOUR SHOES WITHOUT RUNNING IN THEM:
Sounds tricky, right? Not so much. We both want you to love your shoes. Try these two easy ideas to be sure you've met your match:
- TRY 'EM FOR 30 MINUTES
Right out of the box, wear your shoes inside your home or office for 30 minutes. You'll know pretty quick if they are the right ones for you.
- NOT SURE THEY ARE YOUR MATCH? TRY A DIFFERENT PAIR!
If you don't love your shoes using our simple test above, give us a call and we can help you swap them out for a different pair. Just make sure the pair that didn't work are back before your 60 days are up!
POLICY ON APPAREL
You get 60 days to decide if you want to keep your apparel. Return your apparel in new and unused condition with the original tags and packaging, and you'll be taken care of. Pronto!
POLICY ON ACCESSORIES
Not sure about your accessory purchase? Just return it in new and unused condition within 60 days of your purchase date with all the original tags and packaging. No questions asked!
National Running Center reserves the right to refuse service to customers who excessively return shoes, apparel, or accessories for exchange or refund. We hate to say it, but since we obviously can't help these customers find the right product, we will encourage them to move on to someone who can.
RESTOCKING FEES:
You have up to 60 days from the date of purchase to decide if you want to keep your shoes, apparel, or gear. However, you must return your purchase in new and unused condition with the original tags and packaging to receive a full refund. Sounds pretty simple, right?
Here is where the Ifs, ands, or buts come in:
-If you are cutting it close on the 60 day window, MAKE SURE your return is postmarked not more than 60 Days after the date on your receipt. Please enclose a copy of your receipt with your return to verify you made it under the wire.
-If you return an item AFTER 60 days, we will not issue a refund, and we will not return it to you unless you agree to pay shipping to get it back.
-If you return an item within the 60 day window that is not in new and unused condition*, we will not issue a refund and we will not return it to you unless you agree to pay shipping to get it back.
-If you return an item within the 60 day window that is not in its original packaging but is otherwise new and unused, we will issue a refund after deducting a restocking fee of 10% - 25%. Our returns department will determine the percentage based upon how much work needs to be done to repackage the product for resale.
-When you receive your order, keep all original hangtags. Remove them if you need to try the product on of course. But don't throw them away until you are sure you are keeping your gear. If your order includes shoes, DO NOT discard or deface your shoe box until you are sure you are keeping your shoes. A damaged shoe box will always incur a restocking fee.
REFUNDS:
If you decide to return any item(s) on your order, a refund will not be processed until we have the returned product back in-hand.
Once we initiate the refund on our end can take as long as 5 to 10 business days to be finalized and for that amount to return to your credit card and/or bank account.
We will never refund your card for more than what you paid. Even if we wanted to, our systems will not allow us. Please be sure to check your order summary (emailed to you once you place an order) to see what the final cost was on your order.
If you believe your card was used to make a purchase with National Running Center without your consent, please contact us immediately.
Sometimes the shipping carrier will misplace and/or incorrectly route your package from us which can extend the time it takes for the package to arrive at your doorstep. Please let us know if this happens as we can effectively communicate with the shipping carrier to provide us with a shipping refund which we will, in turn, pass along to you.
If you received the incorrect item(s), or if your items arrived damaged and/or defective, we will refund the cost of shipping to you; otherwise, shipping will not be refunded.
- We are not responsible for mistakes made when you are placing an order through our website. For example: If you meant to order a size 11 and accidentally ordered a size 8 instead, this is not our fault and we will not refund shipping for any error made by the customer. Please make sure to review your cart before placing the order.
- What is "damaged/defective": Damaged or defective is literal damage to the product (tears, holes, seams coming undone), stains/discoloration, missing components (eg: shoe laces, bottle caps, etc.), broken components (such as zippers), and other issues which are permitted at our discretion.
- Sometimes we will refund shipping for the reason of "Product not as advertised"; however, this is extremely rare and only happens when there was an information error on our website. National Running Center reserves the right to decide if the product was in fact "not as advertised".
- Different shoe and apparel brands will often run smaller or larger than other brands; while you may be a size 8 in Brand A, you might instead be a size 8.5 in Brand B. This does not constitute as "damaged/defective" nor as "Product not as advertised".
- In some cases, the customer can contact the manufacturer directly and ask for a refund (most shoe manufacturers will allow this). This can sometimes be the better solution as the manufacturer can sometimes provide a larger refund, or offer resources and alternatives.
*WHAT IS "NEW & UNUSED?"
New and Unused is just what it implies. If the product you want to return shows any signs of use (wear, dirt, smell, hair, scuffing, discoloration, etc.) it is not new and unused.
HOW TO MAKE A RETURN:

Bought your gear at a recent running event, and now you are having second thoughts? Write a short note telling us your story, and when and where you made your purchase. Please enclose a copy of your receipt if you have it. If you don't have a copy of your receipt, please provide the last four digits of the card used at purchase, and the date of purchase.
ONLINE PURCHASES
Do you have an account with us? Simply log into your account to view your orders, find the appropriate order, and click "request return". Or, simply fill out the back of your packing slip and mail back to us so we can take care of you.

Make sure to fill out and include the back of the packing slip with your return package.
