Early Days

The National Running Center started in 1987 in Factoryville, Pennsylvania, as a small race expo exhibitor. Two years later, in 1989, the company moved to nearby Dalton, Pennsylvania to continue growing. During this time, in the mid nineteen-nineties, National Running Center became the exclusive US supplier of Frank Shorter Running Gear, and we began our catalog sales with phone and mail ordering.
Over the course of the following ten years, the business continued to grow, and in 2001, the company moved into a new location on Davis Street in downtown Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania.
After remodeling, we opened our retail store and started our website and online ordering business, and the National Running Center that you know and love was born.

Our Company Today

Today, our Frank Shorter brand lives on in the stylish, modern clothing that we produce and sell at race expos, online, and in store. We stay true to our roots as our expo teams visit over 150 races per year, providing expert shoe, apparel, and accessory advice for runners across the nation. Our staff’s goal is to recommend the best product for each runner’s specific needs.
